RAW is the new art fair in the city of Rotterdam. Young, fresh and different-that is how it will be! RAW offers its visitors, gallerists, artists and collectors a completely revisited art fair experience. The fair will take place from the 8th to the 12th of February 2012 simultaneously with the established Art Rotterdam and Object Rotterdam.
RAW Art Fair will be held at the FENIX hangars in Katendrecht, located in just 700m walking distance from the Cruise Terminal where Art Rotterdam and Object Rotterdam will take place. Next to the galleries segment and the individual artists program we offer a peripheral program of dance and music performances, live bands and much more, making this a multifaceted event. The programming of Art Rotterdam and RAW Art Fair are coordinated to make sure that we all reach out to as many visitors as possible.
With the 10,000 m2 of space . The first floor of the exhibition space will be dedicated to established and emerging international galleries, whereas the second floor will be offered to artists, who would like to exhibit their works autonomously. RAW will be the first art fair to offer artists the possibility to show sculptures and objects independently at an art fair exhibition. Alongside the art presentations, RAW will deliver a program of events at a specially designed area, where the guests could enjoy theatre and music performances, DJ’s and many parties. This area will also include a bar and catering service with delicious food- a terminal for art talks, reflections and new ventures.
Contrary to the official art fair model, RAW will cater to the younger audience and provide a less formal ground where art could be cultivated, appreciated and loved! In few words we aim for outstanding art, unique experience, and nice atmosphere! For all of you who love art, and would like to experience it in a creative and friendly atmosphere-RAW will be the place!
With now two major art fairs taking place at the same time, a side program including museum and gallery tours, openings, art initiative and studio visits, parties and of course a lot of fresh art, Rotterdam will surely take its stake at the international contemporary art agenda. RAW Art Fair collaborates closely not only with Art Rotterdam, but also with the museums, galleries and various art initiatives in order to bring a coordinated program to its visitors and guests and ensure that they will get the best of what Rotterdam could offer during one of the most important weeks of contemporary art in the Netherlands. RAW will deliver a tailored program, which will enrich your experience and put you into contact with as much art as possible. Parties, site‐specific events and many openings are just a fraction of what you can expect!
